Duties of Canteen officer Downs SC
 

  1. Arrive in time to be ready to serve food and drinks when sailors come off the water
  2. Unlock canteen (if unsure of key location check with other club members)
  3. Hygiene is essential, both of equipment and personally. Use hand wash basin for hand washing.
  4. Prepare food as appropriate using pre-frozen or fresh depending on circumstances
  5. Write menu on board
  6. Open hatch. Advise non food handlers to remain out of kitchen area. No pets allowed in this area! Beware of hazards of hot water, hot appliances sharp utensils etc and  therefore children also not allowed in this area.
  7. Serve food and drink remembering hygiene principles.
  8. At end of session collect plates etc and wash up then rinse in separate sinks. Put everything away, wipe down and close hatch.
  9. Cash up leaving float in canteen.  The money taken should be put in bar till using the duplicate book (kept in canteen till) Put the top copy with the money in the bar till.
  10. Lock canteen door.
